Vector Petals Gone Wild

Because it’s easy to lose brand new skills if we don’t practice them and because I’m determined to learn how to use vectors the way want to, I’ve been trying to do at least one vector drawing a day. Normally I don’t draw flowers but they’re good subjects for learning how to use vector tools. The one above went a bit wild, petal-wise, but that turned out to be a good thing because I discovered that my normal drawing speed of “too fast for its own good” is OK for vectors. They’re endlessly forgiving.

    You are so right!

    …have you explored gradients yet?

  2. Yes…I can see where gradients would be useful for shading/shaping/highlighting but I’m still trying to figure out how to do them freehand bec the options are limited. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Over all, vectors are pretty much what I expected except for the constant backtracking to the tools and clicking, clicking, clicking. I wish there could be a way to lock features in a “use” mode. Maybe I’m doing something wrong or still haven’t found the setting(s) I want. Either way, my patience isn’t unlimited so I’m letting it go for a few days. Will go back refreshed, ready to click again. 🙃 👋
